Welcome to FazTrack……
The place for the fazt & furiouz to chillax on the net……
This being my first blog, I wud like to introduce my self first……
To put it in one word, I am a Mumbaikar…..or Me Mumbaikar.

I have started this blog to fulfil my hearts desire to write about 2 things Mumbai & my passion for speed. They say home is where the heart is & thus my heart lies in aamchi Mumbai.
As people from Mumbai will know, that Mumbai is synonymous to speed. Mumbai where the clock hand governs the wheel of fortune for the millions of people coming to the city of dreams only to realize that their dreams can be converted to nightmares before they can say “Me Mumbaikar”.

The city thrives on the dreams of its citizens traveling on the local’s day in & day out like blood being pumped through the hearts chambers.

Geographically speaking Mumbai is located on the western side of India but it actually is the heart of the country, economically & demographically. As the pure & impure blood both pass through the chambers of the heart, so do people of all kinds make Mumbai tick.
You have the multi-billionaires & the road side beggars, & you also have the “Bhai-log” to the Kindest of the Mumbaikar’s, as shown on the 26th of July, 2005.

You would be thinking that where does the speed come into picture in this bland narration of what is already known of Mumbai. Well my dear friend, it is in this variety of Mumbai that is hidden the break neck speed at which Mumbai advances. With the Sensex soaring across the boards, scaling new heights every other day, & also the influx of people to Mumbai, the city is like a giant steam roller going downhill with its brakes not working…….only time will tell when this giant will stop or more so crash. Amidst this sense of insecurity, you find a fine thread of invisible relationship existing between every mumbaikar, whether he is born there or just moved there or even moved out of there (after staying there for a long time, which is a case like mine :-D). It is this relationship with the city which binds its people to enjoy the companionship & help each other even after a dreary day’s work.
The friendly banter heard or more so overheard in the local trains & on the footpaths are evidence that the people give the city its “Bindaas” approach to every situation they face in work life or the social lives.

Now where do I fit in this picture you might ask? Well I am a Mumbaikar, who is working in Mysore for the past 1& a ½ years. What prompted me to write a blog on Mumbai, well its like you do not cherish what you have until it goes missing. After I started to stay away from Mumbai, I felt like a piece of my heart is missing (I miss my family & friends too), but this feeling was like I was put in isolation, desolated from my heart. The sense of belonging that Mumbai gives to you cannot be attributed to any one thing in particular. The sights of the sea (& the Mumbaichi Porgi too), smells of the Vada-pavs & Pav-Bhajis, sound of the Pandu whistling at a romeo ferrying his “item” around town or the “ting-ting” bell in the Best bus & the “rattle-rattle” of the locals……man I miss them all.

Now, you may say, that what’s new in that, every body loves the city in which he stays.
But, this city of dreams has entered my like a drug in the veins…..it’s like I’m living without my heart my soul, Mumbai!!
I think I would be voicing the thoughts of many Mumbaikars alike!!

My second passion, my love for mean machines, speed demons (environment activists might call them as fuel guzzlers too) is closely linked to my love for Mumbai, the Speed at which the city moves.

Mumbai moves at such a rapid pace that if you have the guts to fly then the spirit of Mumbai can be the wind under your wings, but if you are a laid back, non-hardworking type then this juggernaut will crush your spirit like a steam roller coming down hill over you. Just kidding :)

But the fact is that the city actually has a spirit of its own, which chooses the people worthy of the merit they deserve & put them in their respective positions.

The trains, the buses, the people too, move at the command of the watch, every passing second is filled with activity, traveling, cutting sabzis on your way to home after a hectic day at work, picking up flowers for your wife (or otherwise ;-D) while talking to a customer on the phone while waiting at a signal, its all in a days work.

This fast moving spirit is imbibed in me & I’m a race fanatic, be it F1 or Go carting, be it Rallies or just fast cars, powerful engines……I am in love with all of it.
I love the Lancer Evo, the Ferrari’s, Porsche’s & the Lambo.

Well I think that just about gives you the idea about me, I guess, so until my next blog Happy Reading !!
